PRENATAL FITNESS & POSTNATAL REHABILITATION
Keeping women active through pregnancy and beyond
A woman's body goes through significant physiological changes during pregnancy and postpartum. PPN Active promotes safe and effective exercise during this time which is essential to reduce the risk of injury.
DURING PREGNANCY
Prenatal Fitness
A personalised exercise program by a certified trainer that takes into account your unique needs, fitness level, and any pregnancy-related considerations ensures that workouts are safe, effective, and appropriate for each stage of pregnancy. Added benefits include:
-
Appropriate exercise during pregnancy can help ensure the muscles needed during and immediately following labour, such as the abdominals, pelvic floor, and back muscles have ideal strength and function. It can also improve endurance, which can be beneficial during the birthing process.
-
Regular exercise can help alleviate common discomforts of pregnancy, such as back pain, swelling, and constipation. It can also help manage mood swings, boost energy levels, and improve sleep quality.
-
As your body undergoes changes during pregnancy, maintaining good posture becomes crucial. A personalised exercise program can help strengthen the muscles that support proper alignment, promoting better posture and body awareness.
The FOURTH Trimester
Postnatal Rehabilitation
Recovery after birth takes a lot longer than the typically suggested 6 weeks and there is a high risk of injury if women return too quickly to high impact exercise or lifting heavy loads without adequate rehabilitation of their core and pelvic floor. A personalised exercise program focusing on rebuilding core strength and stability, helps to restore functionality and reduce the risk of potential issues such as pelvic organ prolapse and urinary incontinence while safely managing and rehabilitating diastasis recti. Additional benefits can include:
-
An appropriate postnatal exercise program that considers your specific needs and limitations, can improve your overall strength and fitness levels. This can help you regain strength for daily activities and the demands of caring for your baby.
-
Pregnancy and breastfeeding can cause postural imbalances and strain on certain muscle groups. A personalised exercise program can address these imbalances, targeting specific areas and helping to improve posture and alignment.
-
Regular exercise releases endorphins, which can enhance mood, reduce stress, and increase energy levels. This is particularly beneficial for postnatal moms who experience fatigue and emotional changes. Through participating in group classes, you also have the opportunity to connect with a supportive community where you can share experiences, challenges and victories with other mums.

About Tegan
Meet Your Trainer
When Tegan Beatty was going through her first pregnancy and postnatal experience she realised that the generic advice given to women who wanted to keep exercising was not clear enough. Being told to either ‘just listen to your body’, or given general limitations and restrictions that didn’t take into account her individual wants, needs and experience was particularly confusing. It is very difficult to ‘listen to your body’ when your body is changing rapidly and you are experiencing things you haven’t before.
Already a certified fitness trainer and yoga instructor with 19 years in the industry, on returning to work after her first child, Tegan undertook further training, and is now also a Certified Pre & Postnatal Coach.
Tegan is passionate about giving women the opportunity to maintain an active lifestyle throughout pregnancy, postpartum and beyond.
“Being a certified pre & post natal coach, combined with my own experience as a mum, enables me to help women not just get through their postnatal recovery but actually thrive and come back stronger and more confident in their own knowledge of their body.”
